Katrina Kaif was born on 16 July 1983 in Hong-Kong. Her Father, Mohammed Kaif has the origin of Indian-Kashmiri and Mother Susanna Turcotte is of English origin. When she came to India, ahe changed her surname to that of her father's Kaif, because it was Indian by name. Katrina has seven sibblings. She pursued her engineering studies in London at the age of 17 but then was not interested in that field. She always wanted to do modeling and be in glamour industry. She has definiteley worked hard to reach the position where she is today. With her short career in the hindi film industry, she has already worked with some of the biggest banners and filmmakers in the industry. Although controversies have occasionally encircled her. Career
Katrina started her career with modeling at an early age of 14. She continued with modeling in London under a contract with the Models 1 Agency and did campaigns for houses such as La Senza and Arcadius, even walked on the London Fashion Week ramp. She started her career as a model with photographer Atul Kasbekar and received advertisement assignments from LG, Cola, Fevicol, Lakme, and Veet but she was noticed with the Lakme commercial. She got recognition in 2005 with the film Sarkar, where she played the role of Abhishek Bachchan's girlfriend and in the same year was paired opposite Salman Khan in the movie Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005).

Fitoor is an upcoming Indian romantic drama film. It stars Rekha, Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. The film is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and directed by Abhishek Kapoor, and is based on Charles Dickens' novel Great Expectations. Katrina will be seen playing the role of Firdaus.
