The stunning beauty Aishwarya Rai is a leading contemporary actress of Indian cinema. She was the first runner-up of the Miss India pageant and the winner of the Miss World pageant of 1994. She has been honoured with 2 Filmfare Awards, 2 Screen Awards, and 2 IIFA Awards for her various performances in Bollywood. She made her acting debut in the 1997 biographical film Iruvar and starred in the commercially successful 1998 film Jeans. She earned recognition and Filmfare Best Actress Award for her lead role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's melodrama Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam - 1999 and in 2002 period film Devdas. She got married to Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan. She was awarded with 'Padma Shri' by the Government of India in 2009 and 'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres' by the Government of France in 2012.

Biography
Aishwarya, one of the most beautiful women in the world with blue eyes was born on 1 November 1973 in Mangalore, Karnataka. Later the family moved to Mumbai where she attended Arya Vidya Mandir High School. She did her intermediate schooling from Jai Hind College for a year and then joined DG Ruparel College in Matunga. She is trained in classical dance and music for five years during her teens. She initially wanted a career in medicine but on being unsuccessful later had plans to become an architect and got enrolled at Raheja College. Later, gave up her education to pursue a career in modelling. The former Miss World, who has been a L'Oreal brand ambassador for over a decade, will be seen with short hair in the TV commercial, which will tentatively go on air Jan 3, 2015.

Aishwarya Rai has also been the winner of "Miss Photogenic" award and Miss World Continental Queen of Beauty - Asia & Oceania. She continued to move ahead in her career as a model until she became an actress. She has been ranked 2nd in the Top 20 most popular brand ambassadors worldwide. In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil movie
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen first time in Karan Johar's upcoming movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. She will be seen romancing none other than Khoobsurat actor Fawad Khan in the film. The film also features Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.

Career
In early days of Aishwarya's career, she began with modelling and gained public recognition for her appearance in a Pepsi commercial with actor Aamir Khan. In 1994, she was crowned as Miss India World. She was appreciated a lot for her performance in the movie Jodhaa Akbar. She's that one lady who made her acting debut with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Iruvar and later reached at peak in her career. She was last seen in the film 'Guzaarish' - 2010.

Aishwarya was born into an ethnic Bunt family in Mangalore, Karnataka to Krishnaraj, marine biologist and her mother Brindya, housewife. She has one elder brother Aditya Rai, who is an engineer in merchant navy. Later, she moved to Mumbai and continued with her education and career there itself. Aishwarya Rai got married in 2007 with the famous bollywood filmstar Abhishek Bachchan, son of the legend Amitabh Bachchan and actress Jaya Bachchan. Aishwarya and Abhishek were blessed with Aaradhya Bachchan on November 16, 2011.

Upcoming movie Jazbaa
After a long time gap Aishwarya is coming up with Sanjay Gupta's upcoming film Jazbaa. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan's best buddy, dynamic actor John Abraham and talented actor Irrfan Khan. This is first time for Ash and John to team up on-screen. Earlier John has lost an opportunity to romance the ex-Miss World in the film Happy Birthday. But now he has got a chance. All their fans are awaiting to see their on-screen chemistry. The other cast of the film is not decided.
